1. Introduction
So Now - Stream Simulator ("the App", "we", "our") is a mobile application that recreates the feel of going live. It uses your device's front camera to show a real preview, layered with simulated stream elements such as automatically generated chat, fluctuating viewer counts, floating reactions, and themed overlays.
Your creative progress is yours. Your profile, session history, Streaming Points, achievements, unlocked themes, and preferences are kept on your device. We do not ask you to create an account, and we never upload that content to a server.
2. What Stays on Your Device
The following information is created and kept locally on your device:
- Profile: the display name and profile photo you choose.
- Onboarding choices: your creator lane and content style.
- Session history: past streams with date, length, layout, title, viewer figures, message counts, and reactions received.
- Streaming Points: your current balance, lifetime total, and weekly total.
- Achievements & unlocks: earned achievements, unlocked accent colors, unlocked emoji packs, and your selected pack.
- Streaks & rewards: daily streak, best streak, daily bonus claim dates, and viewer-boost balance.
- Settings: selected layout, theme preferences, and onboarding status.
This content is not sent to our servers or sold to anyone.
3. On-Device Storage
Your preferences, session history, profile photo, points, achievements, streaks, and reward records are stored only on your device using on-device preferences and the local file system. None of this is uploaded to a cloud service.
If you delete the App, this locally stored data is removed with it. We cannot recover it, because we never held a copy.
4. Camera & Microphone
So Now uses your front-facing camera to show a live preview during a practice stream, creating the sensation of broadcasting without sending anything anywhere.
- Nothing is recorded: the App shows a live preview only. No video or audio is captured, saved, or transmitted at any point.
- Nothing is broadcast: despite the live look, no media leaves your device. Chat and viewer numbers are generated locally.
- Device Check: the Device Check screen lets you confirm camera and microphone access before you start.
The camera session starts when a practice stream begins and stops the moment you end it.
5. Simulated Content
Each practice stream generates the following on your device:
- Simulated chat: drawn at random from preset handles and message templates. These are not real people.
- Simulated viewers: randomly moving numbers that imitate a live audience. No one is actually watching.
- Reactions: the floating emoji that appear are decorative effects, counted only for your own stats and points.
- Leaderboard & battles: the streamers shown on the leaderboard and in challenge battles are fictional characters with preset stats. Competing against them affects only your local progress.
All of this is fictional and produced on your device. No real social interaction takes place.
6. Analytics, Attribution & Notifications
To keep the App stable and understand which features are useful, we rely on a small set of industry-standard services. These process technical and usage signals — not the personal content described above.
- Analytics (Google Firebase): anonymous, aggregated usage events such as screens viewed and features used, which help us improve the App. This is not tied to your name or profile.
- Attribution (Adjust): measures which marketing source led you to install the App. With your permission, this may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging): if you allow notifications, a device push token is used to deliver occasional updates and reminders.
- App Tracking Transparency: on first launch, iOS asks whether you allow tracking. If you decline, attribution does not use your advertising identifier. You can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
These services have their own privacy practices, governed by Google and Adjust respectively.
7. Device Permissions
So Now may request the following permissions:
- Camera: to show the front-camera preview during a practice stream and to take a profile photo. No video is recorded or transmitted.
- Microphone: requested for realism during a practice stream. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Photo Library: to pick a profile photo from your gallery. The photo is saved locally and never uploaded.
- Notifications: to send occasional updates if you opt in.
- Tracking: to allow advertising attribution, only if you accept the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Every permission is optional. Declining camera access simply shows a black background instead of a preview, and the rest of the App keeps working. You can change permissions anytime in your device Settings.
8. Your Choices
You stay in control:
- Edit profile: change your display name anytime from the Profile tab.
- Change photo: update or remove your profile photo from the Profile tab.
- Review history: your sessions and stats live in the History tab, stored locally.
- Manage permissions: revoke camera, microphone, photo, notification, or tracking access from Settings at any time.
- Uninstall: deleting the App permanently removes all local data, including profile, history, points, achievements, streaks, and rewards.
9. Children's Privacy
So Now is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is a practice tool and does not involve real social interaction or broadcasting.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as features or legal requirements evolve. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Our commitment to keeping your creative progress on your device and never broadcasting real content will not change.
